Diabetes Self-Management Program Workshops

The University of Victoria, Centre of Aging Chronic Disease Self-Management Programs are offering the Diabetes Self-Management Program workshops in our area, 2 ½ hours once a week for six weeks.   www.coag.uvic.ca/cdsmp

There is no charge to participate or for the program materials but space is limited, the experience could be priceless call  1-866-902-3767  to register for March 3rd to April 7th Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Origin at Longwood (6205 Oliver Rd) or April 15th to May 20th Thursdays from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Canadian Diabetes Association (255-2000 Island Hwy N).

For me it is strange that we need seminars for something so simple … just start eating in a healthy way … which means eating as close to nature as possible … out of the garden … no processed and prepacked food that lasts forever.

No sweets and not so much bread, muffins, buns. There are times when I even don’t have bread in my house.

Animals in the wild know how to eat healthy, as soon as they live with some of us they have the same diseases as we do.

Worth thinking about.

These workshops are designed as a self-management tool for those living with Diabetes, the threat of Diabetes or caring for someone with someone with the concerns and challenges of Diabetes.

Please pass this information along to anyone you think may be interested.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
